Calling all writers and authors! Registration is now open for the sixth BoB Writing Series starting April 5th! National award-winning author Lou Berney will host a special advanced workshop on April 26th.
The BoB Writing Series is a five-week course offering viewpoints and tips from the five important areas involving writing and publishing books. The course is intended for writers, authors and those interested in publishing a book.
The series will be on Thursday evenings from April 5th to May 3rd. Each Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m, a different expert will discuss a perspective of book publishing, from being an author to an editor to a publisher to an agent to a bookseller. The cost is $99.95 for the five-week course. Registration is limited. If you are wanting to only take the special workshop class with Lou Berney, the cost is $25 (if you are a past workshop participant, please call the store to receive a special offer). Writers who take the course can also participate in the Best of Books Writing Group that meets the second Monday of every month.
Lou Berney, whose novel “Long and Faraway Gone” won an Edgar Allan Poe Award from the Mystery Writers of America, will offer the workshop on “Plot and Narrative Structure.” Other speakers for the writing series include No. 1 OKLAHOMA BESTSELLER Kent Frates, former National Geographic editor Richard Crum, award-winning writer, editor and publisher Jeanne Devlin, and Joe Hight, president of Best of Books and an endowed chair at the University of Central Oklahoma. The series will also include special guest appearances from Elois Midgette Campbell, author of “Someone Cut Up My Quilt,” Jenny Cody, author of an upcoming children’s book, and Nancy Berland, who owns an agency that manages and markets bestselling authors.
