The Boy Who Dreamed Big is the story of how a foster child was inspired by his elementary school teacher to use his imagination to overcome his obstacles. She taught him that if he believed in himself and worked hard, his dreams would come true and he could be whatever he wanted.
 
Alton Carter is the Director of Youth Ministries at First United Methodist Church in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He is the author of "The Boy Who Carried Bricks" and "Aging Out" which are books about his life journey from foster care through adulthood. He received his Bachelor's Degree at Oklahoma State University and is using his story to inspire youth and adults to do all they can do to "make the world a better place." He makes his home in Stillwater, Oklahoma with his wife Kristin and his two sons Kelton and Colin.
 
Janelda Lane is the Assistant Director of Youth Ministries at First United Methodist Church in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She is the illustrator of "The Boy Who Carried Bricks" and "Marvin's Shining Star." She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Oklahoma State University. Janelda lives in Stillwater with her husband David, three sons Timmy, Gabe, and Brandon and daughter Bethany.
