“Longhorns East” Signing Event with Johnny D. Boggs

Award-winning author, Johnny D. Boggs will be stopping at Best of Books from Noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23 with his latest western novel, “Longhorns East”, as he travels cross country following the historical cattle drive route in his novel.  

This historical western is based on the longest cattle drive in American history when, in the mid-1840s, Tom Candy Ponting became the first ever cattleman to make the journey from Texas to New York City, bringing the Texas Longhorn to the Northeast for the first time and changing the cattle industry forever.
