An Afternoon with Oklahoma Authors - October

Join Best of Books and Oklahoma Authors Jeff Provine, H.A.M. Westring, and Luke Swanson for an afternoon of signing!

The event will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, October 8th. This event is free and open to the public.

About the authors:

Jeff Provine grew up on his family’s Land Run farm outside Enid and came to the metro for classes at the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics. After becoming a fourth-generation graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Jeff began teaching English and Humanities at Oklahoma City Community College. He’s always up to something, whether leading ghost tours in Norman or OKC, working with local artists on Okie Comics, or collecting spooky stories for his many haunted books.

H.A.M. Westring is a family writing team from Oklahoma. Mom (Hollie), Alex (a bowling champion who started this series at the age of 8), and Dad (Matt) are huge bowling fans. Alex and Matt are fantastic bowlers. Hollie’s really good at cheering for them, but she’s not the best on the lanes. However, they still have a lot of fun bowling as a family! H.A.M. decided to write a book together—Bowling Buddies—during the pandemic to have something to look back on and smile about. During the process, Alex’s imagination lit up with storylines, so one book wasn’t enough. Hollie helps Alex turn the ideas into words on a page, and Matt helps Alex write the action scenes and explain the technical parts of bowling. We hope to see you out on the lanes, bowling buddies!

Luke Swanson was raised on a steady diet of stories. You can find him with a book constantly in his hand. He's a member of the Oklahoma Writers' Federation, and he lives with his wife in Oklahoma City.
