Author John S. White left SIGNED COPIES of his book One Fell Swoop! in the store! (Available while supplies last.) This book is a novel based on the amazingly true story of two runaway elephants in Oklahoma.

About One Fell Swoop!: In the summer of 1975, Lila and Isa, baby elephants barely two years old, bolted from circus trainers into a dense forest of Southeast Oklahoma, leading to a beleaguered sheriff's posse, colorful locals, and a big game hunter on a desperate month long chase.
Born in captivity, taught to perform and forced to do rigorous construction tasks, their spontaneous freedom seemed doomed from the start. The deeper into the woods they wandered, the greater the peril. Dehydration, starvation, heat exhaustion and gushing wounds mounted with each passing day. They encountered wild animals, outran packs of bloodhounds, outsmarted horsemen and outlasted clashes with planes, train and automobiles. Their owners thought they would give up. Did they? Was it worth all they had to endure to be free?
The clock was ticking. Tame elephants stand zero chance of adapting well enough to survive in the wild.
A work of fiction inspired by true events, White's lively and amusing debut novel leaves it to the reader to decide if Lily and Isa truly wanted to be rescued or did they escape in pursuit of a better life?
